PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team fell to conference-foe Chatham University 3-0 Friday evening at the Alpha Ice Complex. With the loss, Oswego drops to 7-3-2 overall while also suffering its second ECAC West loss (5-2-2). The Cougars pull within one of .500 on the season (6-7-0) and go to 2-5-0 in the conference.
Oswego had plenty of opportunities throughout the contest but couldn't put anything past the Cougars netminder. The Lakers finished the game with three more shots on target (23-20), including four during a power play opportunity but it was all to no avail.
Aside from shots-on-goal, Oswego also controlled the faceoff dot winning 24 of the 43 puck drops.
Mariah Madrigal played all 60 minutes for the Lakers, stopping 17 Cougar shots.
Women's ice hockey will have its chance with Chatham again as the two teams square off at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pa.
