ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team suffered its second conference loss of the season, falling 90-52 to Oneonta on the road Tuesday evening. With the loss Oswego goes to 1-2 in the SUNYAC and 8-2 on the year. Oneonta goes to 6-3 on the season, 2-1 in conference.
After falling behind early in the first half, Oswego was never able to gain its footing finishing the first half 45-18. The Lakers played tighter to the Red Dragons during the second, but were unable to put together a comeback, eventually falling to Oneonta.
Walter Sampson led the Lakers in scoring, notching 10 points in 27 minutes play.
Brian Sortino aided in the effort with nine of his own, while
Dustin Pond and
Keith Tyson recorded eight a piece.
On the glass,
Demetrius Mitchell collected four rebounds while six other Lakers reeled in three.
Men's basketball returns to the court on at 7:30 on Tuesday as it hosts Brockport at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
