ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team dropped a 62-31 contest to Oneonta on the road on Tuesday night. Oswego's loss puts its record at 2-8 overall and 0-3 in conference tilts while the Red Dragons move to 7-3, 3-0.
Senior
Tayler Sorell scored a Laker-high 12 points, 11 of which came in the second quarter, keeping the team within striking distance at the half. Sorell went into the locker room at half shooting 4-for-8 from the field, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
For the third-straight game, and fifth time this season,
Zana Dillard corralled double-digit rebounds. The sophomore secured a game-high 10 boards, three coming on the offensive glass, while adding two steals.
Helping on offense was
Courtney Ameele, scoring five points, while
Nicole SantaMaria,
Monica Harvey and
Allie Izzo all chipped in three apiece.
Oswego will return home for its next contest, starting a three-game home stand at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
