POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team earned a scoreless double-overtime tie at Potsdam on Saturday afternoon. With the tie, Oswego is now 4-3-3 overall and 1-2-1 in conference action while the Bears go to 7-3-1, 0-2-1.
Despite outshooting the host team 22-4 on the day, the Lakers were not able to find the back of the net. Of those 22, seven were on-goal but all stopped by the Potsdam keeper.
Audrey Burbidge put a game-high four shots on-goal while
Mariela Cipriano added two and
Emma Geyer tallied one.
Senior
Melissa Siegfried needed to make just one save to earn her seventh-career shutout thanks to a staunch defensive effort. Siegfried's seventh shutout puts her in a tie for sixth on the program's all-time career list, matching Emily Varonier's total from 2011-13.
Oswego will remain on the road next weekend for more SUNYAC competition, starting at 3 p.m. on Friday at Buffalo State.
