OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's soccer team fell at the hands of the Fredonia Blue Devils—2-0—on Saturday. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 3-9-0 on the season and are now 0-6-0 in the conference. Fredonia improves to 9-4-1 and 3-1-0.
Similar to last season's contest between the two teams, this year's match was a fairly even battle despite the fact the Lakers ended on the wrong end. Oswego recorded a respectable 11 shots—three fewer than the Blue Devils—throughout the rainy game with four coming on-target. The team also earned a split in the corner kicks category with seven.
Senior
Mitch Brickman took two of the squad's four shots-on-goal. One came in the 43
rd minute after the Rochester, N.Y. native took a corner kick. His other near-miss was in the second half, about 10 minutes in.
Other offense came off the feet of
Paul Kwoyelo and
Connor Lunduski as each was able to make an attempt on the net. The two players combined to take four total shots, splitting with two each.
Oswego will return to action at 3 p.m. on Friday as it hits the road for a conference-play double beginning Brockport and then Geneseo the following day.
