FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team defeated the host Fredonia Blue Devils by a score of 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. Oswego improves to 5-4-3 on the year and more importantly picked up a crucial conference victory (2-3-1). Fredonia falls to 3-11-0 and 0-5-0 in the SUNYAC.

Oswego's outburst in scoring in this contest was largely driven by Alexa Restante, who tallied a goal and two assists in the contest.

In the 20^th minute after surrendering a goal, the Lakers got on the board. Restante took an Oswego corner kick and lofted a cross in front of the goalie, who tried to punch it away. The ball ended up in a prime spot for Mary Morrison who completed the scoring push with a header into the back of the net.

Restante followed the set blueprint to a tee no more than 30 minutes later. The Lakers started the second half aggressively and thus earned another corner. The junior again put a ball near the box and after Morrison's header was deflected away, Sarah Grupp swooped in and rocketed it past the goaltender.

Three minutes later, Fredonia capitalized on the Laker excitement from the previous goal and tied it up. No matter, as Restante saved her best for last and put back a deflected would-be goal in the 63^rd minute. It was the Manlius, N.Y. native's second of the season and her fourth point of the day.

The Lakers dominated the ball all afternoon, taking 25 shots with 12 on-goal. They also earned nine corner kicks.

Melissa Siegfried earned the win in goal and stopped seven shots in 90 minutes of action.

Women's soccer will return to the home pitch at 3 p.m. on Friday as it hosts SUNYAC rival Brockport.
