RESULTS
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned a split contest with the Clarkson Golden Knights at Laker Pool on Saturday afternoon. Men's fell by a score of 138-105 and now stands at 1-3 on the year. Women's defeated the Golden Knights 161-78 to improve to 2-2.
Women's swimming and diving was led by an overall strong performance with athletes finishing first in 12 of 13 events. Starting off the day was the Lakers 200-yard IM relay, which placed first in a time of 1:58.28. Oswego's 'B' team placed third in the event.
Individually, the Lakers were led by
Emily Ross,
Steph Noga and
Riley Synan. Ross began the solo events by winning the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.67), before coming in first in the 100-yard breastroke in 1:15.54.
Noga (22) and Synan (18) contributed 40 points individually. Synan took home the first-place finish in the 200-yard IM in an impressive 2:22.99 and then went on to cruise to a four-second win in the 100-yard butterfly. Noga, won the 1000-yard free swim by over 40 seconds (11:50.41) and the 500-yard freestyle by nearly 10 seconds.
Other first-place finishes came from
Hannah Jensen in the 50-yard free, Megan Maquet in both diving events and Turner Logan in the 100-yard free.
On the men's side, the Lakers saw yet another strong performance in the long-distance freestyle.
Nicholas Weber clocked a 10:18.16, which won the race by 55 seconds to earn nine points toward the Laker total. After breaking a school record last week,
Daniel Rodriguez earned another victory in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle.
Luke Snyder earned the top spot in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. He completed the events with scores of 235.32 and 250.66, respectively.
Oswego will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday with another dual meet, when they host Alfred State.
