OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-4 contest to Brockport on Saturday afternoon at Laker Turf Stadium. Prior to the game, Oswego honored its senior class with an on-field ceremony for
Sean Biggie,
Troy Calkin,
Andrew Brennan,
James Lennon and
John Novitsky. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in the SUNYAC while the Golden Eagles improve to 11-2, 4-1.
Brockport tallied the contest's first two goals before Oswego cracked the scoreboard with a Lennon unassisted score at 7:45 of the first. The Golden Eagles then strung-together another pair before
Bobby Emerson notched a goal off a
Tyler Nason assist 5:27 into the second quarter. Brockport then scored the game's next seven until Nason found the back of the net off a
Luke Krizman pass with 4:52 left in the game. A little over two minutes later, the Lakers got their final goal from Biggie, his first of the year to cap Senior Day.
Wyatt Russo had a solid day in net despite getting a good amount of work. The junior stopped 15 Brockport shots while allowing 12 goals.
Both teams failed on just three clear attempts and were each successful on one extra-man opportunity. Nason's tally was Oswego's man-up conversion.
Oswego will return to the field for its final home game of the regular season at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when the Bears of Potsdam come to campus.
