GENESEO, N.Y. – The Oswego State dropped its SUNYAC West Division opener 9-0 at reigning conference champion Geneseo's home courts. Oswego is now 0-2 overall and 0-1 in its division while Geneseo improves to 2-0, 1-0.
At third doubles, the Laker tandem of
Allie Foland and
Alesha Pilon were able to steal two points from the Knights before falling 8-2. On the singles side, Foland came closest to taking a set, grabbing three games in each set in the 6-3, 6-3 loss. Pilon tallied two games in the first set and one in the second in a defeat at sixth singles.
Giovanna Saulle (fourth singles),
Madeline Klatt (third) and
Alli Ullrich (second) each took a game at their respective slots, eventually succumbing to their Geneseo counterparts.
The Lakers will return to the courts at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 when it travels to Wells College for a nonconference competition.
