FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 contest to the host Fredonia Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon. Oswego falls to 1-6 on the year with the loss.

After dropping the first two doubles matches, the Lakers got on the board. Lorrayne Broach and Giovanna Saulle defeated their Fredonia opponents 8-4.

Saulle recorded the other Oswego point during the afternoon match with a win at fourth singles. The junior took the first set—6-3—without too much trouble. In the second set, the players would go to a tiebreak and her opponent was too much to handle as she forced a final-set super-tiebreak. Saulle, however, would hold her head up high in victory after gritting out an 11-9 win in the final set.

At second singles, Jill Travis forced her opponent to three sets, but eventually fell 10-6 in the final frame. Allie Foland also pushed her opponent despite only going two sets. After a first set tiebreak, the second set was decided by a single break of serve.

Oswego will return home at noon on Sunday for a match against Elmira College at the Romney Tennis Courts.
