­­­­­­POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team fell 68-64 in overtime to the Potsdam Bears on the road. Oswego is now 5-10 and 2-6 in the conference, while Potsdam improves to 2-10 and earns its first SUNYAC win (1-7).

Oswego began the contest more aggressively, leading the way through the first two quarters and holding a six-point lead at the half. Heather Hebert recorded a near-double-double through the first 20 minutes with 18 points and nine boards.

During the third quarter, Potsdam began to show a little more life, but the Lakers held on to the lead until midway through the fourth. The Bears used a 16-11 advantage in the final quarter to take a two-point lead at 58-56 with under 10 seconds remaining.

Courtney Ameele took the ball down court and hit a mid-range jumper with 0:02 remaining to tie the contest 58-58 and send it to overtime.

In the extra period, Potsdam continued its momentum and squeaked past the Lakers with 10 points to the away team's six. Despite the losing result, Hebert recorded another double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Zana Dillard joined her teammate's effort with a similar one notching 11 points and collecting 11 caroms.

Mary Mazzella just missed a double-digit rebounding and scoring performance, finishing with nine points and 12 boards. Offensively, Ameele tallied 14 points including one 3-pointer.

Women's basketball travels southeast to New Paltz on Tuesday evening for a 7:30 p.m. contest with the Hawks.
