BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State wrestling team fell to No. 19 Brockport on the road on Wednesday night. Oswego is now 3-9 in dual meets for the year while the Golden Eagles stay perfect at 2-0.
On the night, the Lakers secured three weight-class victories, starting with reigning Oswego State Athlete of the Week
Evan Corso. The 133-pounder was able to record an 11-4 decision to get Oswego on the board early and bring the Lakers to within three at 6-3.
A few weight classes later, 174-pound
Troy Seymour shutout Brockport's James Schreck 5-0 to gain another three team points. Freshman and nationally-ranked
Jordan Bushey made it two in a row for Oswego, notching a 12-3 major decision at the 184-pound weight class. That proved to be the Lakers' final four points of the night.
Oswego will return to the mats at 10 a.m. on Saturday when it hosts the ECWC Championship in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
