BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team – ranked fourth in the west division – closed out its fall portion of the season with a 5-3 loss to west division's second-seeded Fredonia Blue Devils on Sunday morning at the SUNYAC Championship. Oswego closes the fall at 3-10 while the Blue Devils improve to 10-3.
 
In a close outing, Bridget Bender was able to help Oswego record to of its three points on the afternoon. At third singles, Bender downded Fredonia's Christy May 6-4, 6-2. The freshman then teamed with Lorrayne Broach at second doubles, cruising to an 8-1 victory.
 
Oswego's other point came from Haru Kobayashi, allowing just two games to slip away in an easy 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Chloe Karnisky.
 
Alli Ullrich was ahead in the first singles battle before the match was halted as Fredonia captured enough points for the win. The senior beat Anna Chiacchia 7-5 in the opening set and trailed just 1-0 in the second.
 
The Lakers return to the court in the spring for a few matches that have yet to be determined.
