OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team cruised to a 93-60 win versus Potsdam on Friday evening. Oswego, which was receiving votes in the most recent national polls, improves to 16-4 on the year and 12-1 in the conference. The Bears are now 2-18 overall and 1-13 in the league.
Upon starting the contest down 8-5 to Potsdam, the Lakers surged, going on a 14-1 run to take a 19-9 lead with just under 13 minutes remaining in the first. Oswego did not let up, continuing to build its advantage to a high of 33.
Aside from the starting lineup, every Laker played at least five minutes in this contest, led by
Pat Caruso's 19 minutes. The said player scored seven points and pulled down three boards. Other scoring off the bench consisted of:
Tyler Pierre (7),
Brandan Gartland (5),
Matt Crockett (5),
Josh Ivey (4),
Mark Westbrook (3),
Vic Clervil (2) and
Tim Marshall (2).
Jamir Ferebee led the scoring on the evening, notching 21 on 5-for-8 shooting, while also going a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe.
Brian Sortino followed that up with 16 of his own, while also adding five assists.
On the boards,
Mykelle Krecko led with 15, while nearly every other Laker collected a rebound.
Keith Tyson was next closest with five, while also scoring five points and dishing out three assists.
Oswego returns to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday for another league contest with Plattsburgh in the team's final regular season home game.
