ALFRED, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team fell 5-4 in a hard-fought battle at Alfred University on Monday afternoon. Oswego is now 3-12 on the campaign while the Saxons improve to 6-10.
 
Wins for the Lakers came balanced with two in singles competition and two on the doubles side. Jill Travis and Giovanna Saulle were involved in two wins each, as Travis downed her counterpart 6-2, 6-1 at second singles while Saulle beat Sarah Grace 6-1, 6-0.
 
In doubles, Travis teamed with Alli Ullrich for a narrow 8-7 victory at the number one spot. Saulle paired with Lorrayne Broach for a slightly larger 8-6 triumph in the second slot.
 
Oswego will serve up its final match of the season at 10 a.m. on Saturday when it hosts Wells College.
