ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Oswego State volleyball team was defeated on the road in a nonconference matchup at Nazareth College on Wednesday night. Despite rallying in the second set to draw the match even at one set apiece, the Lakers were unable to secure another set.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a nine-point defeat in the first set, Oswego responded with poise for a second set triumph.
- In the second set, the Lakers never allowed Nazareth to string more than two points together at any point.
- Conversely, Oswego was able to put runs of three and four points together, the latter coming at a crucial time.
- At 19-19, the Lakers were able to score four-consecutive points, starting with a kill from Lauren Fie for a side out.
- Julia Flohr served the next three points Oswego scored, all coming on attack errors from the Golden Flyers, two of which came on block assists from the Lakers front row.
- In all, Alison Sullivan led the Lakers on defense with four blocks, while Shauna O'Flaherty and Fie each had two.
- The offense was paced by Sullivan and Mira Legnon-Bozman each with eight kills apiece.
- Emily Costa took the bulk of the passing duties, racking up 14 digs.
- Flohr and Alison Berger split the setting load, with the former collected 18 assists followed by the latter's 15
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego hosts a quad this weekend, with St. John Fisher College, Union College and Oneonta coming to Laker Hall. The Lakers opened with the Fisher Cardinals at 5 p.m. on Friday in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
