UTICA, N.Y. - Senior Ariana Wright and sophomore Melissa Lussier led the Oswego State Volleyball team to a split of matches on Saturday on the road at SUNY Poly.  The Lakers defeated the hosts 3-1 before falling to Alfred in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Senior setter Alison Berger had a double-double with 25 assists and 13 digs while freshman Dana Carey notched 18 assists and a pair of aces.
• Wright and Lussier each recorded 14 kills to lead the Oswego offense and Mira Legnon-Bozman had eight kills and 15 digs.
• After splitting the first two sets against SUNY Poly, the Laker defense held the Wildcats to five kills in the pivotal third set to grab momentum.
• In the final stanza, the Lakers hit .458 on 12 kills, one error, in 24 attempts to seal the match.
• Emily Costa anchored the defense with a match-high 20 digs.
• Against Alfred, junior Shauna O'Flaherty led the team with five kills and 13 digs, but Oswego got outhit 34-21 in kills by a solid Saxons defense.
