NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Oswego State Volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Fredonia on Friday evening at a neutral court on the campus of SUNY New Paltz. The Lakers dug themselves an 0-2 deficit before pushing the Blue Devils to the deciding fifth set with 25-12, 25-19 wins in the third and fourth sets. The comeback fell just short with a 15-13 final-set score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers fell behind due to tough Fredonia serving that yielded 10 aces across the first two sets.
- In the third, sophomore Emily Costa came off the bench to hold the Blue Devils to one ace while notching eight digs in the set to help Oswego cruise to the 25-12 victory.
- Junior Shauna O'Flaherty hammered six kills in the fourth set to propel the team to a decisive fifth set.
- Oswego went up 5-2 before a four-point run forced a timeout.
- Down 10-14, Oswego scored three straight points to put pressure on the Blue Devils, but fell just short when an unfortunate rebound off an overhead structure ended the play and the match.
- Junior setter Julia Flohr (22 assists, 14 digs), and sophomores Melissa Lussier (11 kills, 10 digs) and Mira Legnon-Bozman (10 kills, 11 digs) all recorded double-doubles.
- As a team, the Lakers had 93 digs on the night, second-best during the season (Scranton - 95).
