NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The Oswego State Volleyball team earned a conference split on Saturday with a 3-1 defeat at New Paltz before rebounding with a convincing 3-0 win over Plattsburgh.  The Lakers are currently tied for the fifth spot in the conference with three other schools with a 2-4 mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Oswego was tied at one game apiece with New Paltz and 22-22 in the pivotal third set, but couldn't grab the momentum when New Paltz recorded a pair of kills and an ace.
• Junior Shauna O'Flaherty led Oswego with 14 kills and 14 digs while Lauren Fie had 10 kills and three blocks.
• Senior Alison Berger had 20 assists while outside hitters Ariana Wright and Melissa Lussier each had eight kills.
• In the Plattsburgh match, the Oswego defense smothered the Cardinals, holding them to a negative attack percentage (20 kills, 22 attack errors).
• O'Flaherty put up another impressive showing with 16 kills and 15 digs while Mira Legnon-Bozman had eight kills and 11 digs.
• On the setting front, Julia Flohr had 18 assists and 12 digs while sophomore Emily Costa had 23 digs and eight assists.

The Lakers travel to Rochester on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup with Nazareth College in non-conference action.
