OSWEGO, N.Y. – Despite freshman
Ramatoulaye Sy's season-high 19 points and the Lakers outscoring Geneseo 20-11 in the fourth quarter, the team fell to the undefeated and No. 23 nationally ranked Knights by a score of 74-48 in the SUNYAC conference opener for both teams Friday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo got it going early and held a 23-5 advantage after the first quarter on 71.4% shooting.
- Sy and Samantha Britton picked up the Laker offense in the second quarter by draining two 3-pointers each as Oswego shot 46.2% as a team.
- After the Knights opened up the third quarter on a 17-2 run, the Lakers closed the last 2:30 with a 5-2 advantage.
- The Lakers took that momentum into the fourth quarter as they went on a 16-5 run over the first seven minutes. Capping the strong quarter was freshman Megan Steinman when she recorded her first college points on a nice driving layup.
- Defensively, Oswego recorded five blocks in the contest with freshman guard Logan Castiglione leading the team with a pair. As a group, the Lakers forced 19 Geneseo turnovers on the night.

The Lakers will be back at it tomorrow as they host the Golden Eagles of Brockport for a 2 p.m. conference matchup.
