Lakers Undone by Late Ephs’ Goals in Overtime Loss

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 6/7 Oswego State men's ice hockey team dropped a nonconference contest to the Williams College Ephs in overtime on Saturday evening. The lone Laker goal was tallied by senior Josh Nenadal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Nenadal gave the Lakers the early lead, as he was able to capitalize on a crowded Ephs' net in the first period.
  • The transfer's tally at 16:41 was aided by Jody Sullivan and Devin Campbell. Oswego would hold that lead for the majority of the contest.
  • Williams tied the game at 1-1 as Bobby Beniers found the back of the Laker net with 18:18 remaining in the third period. Line mate Jack Forrest recorded the helper on Beniers' goal.
  • Goaltender David Richer was able to force the game into overtime with a clutch chest save with 1:45 remaining in the third period. The Ephs' shot came off the stick of Marcus Mollica.
  • Mollica was able to complete the Williams comeback as he tallied the game-winning goal, a short-handed goal, 40 seconds into the overtime period. Forrest recorded the assist on the Ephs' overtime goal.
  • Richer collected 27 saves during his 60-plus minutes between the pipes.
  • Oswego owned 27 faceoff wins to Williams 21.

The Lakers return to action at 3 p.m. on Sunday as they again host Williams College for a nonconference contest.
