FREDONIA, N.Y. – Despite a strong first two quarters for the Oswego State women's basketball team that saw them up by five heading into the third, they fell to Fredonia 60-46 on the road on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Raiven Encarnacion got the Lakers going early with a layup and 3-point bucket in the opening 65 seconds of the contest to lead 5-3.
- Trailing 12-7 late in the first period, the Lakers went on a 12-4 run, capped off by Samantha Britton swishing home a 3-pointer to take a 19-16 lead.
- Fredonia started a 9-0 run late in the first into the second period to go up 25-19. The Lakers matched it with a 9-0 run of their own, capped off by 3-pointers from Encarnacion and Ramatoulaye Sy.
- The Lakers led the Blue Devils 35-30 after two quarters. Oswego got scoring contributions from eight different players in the half, led by Encarnacion's eight first half points.
- The game was decided in the third when Fredonia took a 46-37 lead by outscoring Oswego 16-2 for the quarter.
- Encarnacion finished with a team-high 12 points and picked up four steals on the defensive end.
- Britton scored eight points to go with five boards while Rachael Windhausen collected six boards and six assists.

The Lakers play one more contest before winter break as they travel to Alfred University next Friday to take on the Saxons for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
