OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State Volleyball team finished 3-1 at their annual home tournament with a split of matches on Saturday to take second place. The Lakers defeated Elmira in the morning match before dropping to tournament champion St. Lawrence in the afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After an opening frame setback against Elmira, Oswego pulled out two-point victories in the second and third sets to grab momentum.
- The fourth set was all Oswego as the Lakers outhit Elmira 16-5 in kills.
- Senior Alison Berger dished out 33 assists, dug eight balls and served three aces to lead Oswego to the comeback.
- Sophomores Melissa Lussier and Mira Legnon-Bozman had 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Senior Ariana Wright added eight kills and eight digs.
- Bozman-Legnon led the defense with 24 digs and freshman Skylar Bechard had 21 of her own.
- Against St. Lawrence, Oswego had opportunities in the second and third sets to swing momentum, but the Saints held off the Lakers' charge.
- Oswego got 10 kills against St. Lawrence from junior middle Lauren Fie and eight from classmate Sarah Massie.
- A trio of Lakers recorded double-digit digs with Shauna O'Flaherty keeping 16 attacks from hitting the ground, Legnon-Bozman 13 and senior Jessica Long getting 12 up.
- Berger and Long were named to the All-Tournament team for their stellar play during the weekend.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers remain at home to take the court at 7 p.m. on Tuesday against Keuka College.
