Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - After a Friday night setback, the Oswego State Volleyball team pulled out a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon at the Athletics and Fitness Center on the campus of Vassar College. The Lakers swept the University of New England before going the distance in a five-set win over the University of Scranton.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the New England match, sophomore Mira Legnon-Bozman had five kills on only seven attempts and 13 digs.Â
- Middle blocker Alison Sullivan had seven kills and three blocks while junior Sarah Braddon chipped in seven kills of her own. Â
- Sophomore libero Emily Costa had 14 digs while junior captain Julia Flohr had 15 assists, 11 digs and five aces.
- Against Scranton, the Lakers got a balanced attack on offense as senior Ariana Wright, Sullivan and fellow middle hitter Lauren Fie all got 10 kills.
- Flohr and Wright both notched double-doubles with Flohr getting 21 assists and 16 digs while Wright added 13 digs to her stat line.
- Freshman Skylar Bechard continues to impress with a team-high 19 digs and a pair of aces while Costa got 14 digs in the defensive specialist position.
- Alison Berger led Oswego with 23 assists and six aces in the match.
- The win over Scranton is the second-straight over the Landmark Conference opponent and comes off their impressive 35-5Â campaign in 2017.
WHAT'S NEXT
The volleyball team returns home for the annual Oswego State Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The team will take the court on Friday at 4 p.m. against SUNY Canton and later that evening at 8 p.m. versus D'Youville.
