OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team tied with SUNY Potdam Saturday evening after trailing for a majority of the contest. Sophomore
Leah Czerwinski owned the lone Laker tally.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears took the lead in the 12th minute of the contest as Stephanie Dunlap went top-shelf from the left faceoff circle. Aiding Dunlap's goal was Rylie Murray and Emily Burke.
- The Lakers best scoring opportunity in the second stanza was owned by Jean-marie Padden who went 1-on-2, tied up with the Bears' defense, as she managed to get a shot off that was collected in the goaltender's bread basket.
- The Lakers tied the game up at 11:47 in the third period as Padden won a neutral zone battle, sent the puck up the boards to Eryn Stewart who then fed it to Czerwinski for the game-tying goal. Stewart and Padden earned assists on the Buffalo, N.Y. native's tally.
- The two teams were even through the last 11 minutes of the contest, sending it into a five minute overtime. Oswego's Philomena Teggart helped to deny the Bears an overtime win as she made a stellar block in front of the Laker net with 2:29 remaining in the final period.
- Goaltender Rachael Farmer made 20 saves in the stalemate.
- Oswego's special teams was strong on the penalty kill, successfully killing off all five Laker penalties.
- The Lakers owned advantages in shots (58-47), shots on-goal (31-21) and faceoff wins (27-19)

Oswego returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as they host Plymouth State for back-to-back nonconference games.
