OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State women's basketball team hung with the Fredonia Blue Devils at home on Friday night but fell 56-50 on a night that saw the team honor seniors

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fredonia kicked off the game on a 7-0 run but the Lakers closed it to 11-7 with a minute to go in the quarter behind five points from Windhausen.
- The Blue Devils would score the game's next eight points to open up a 12-point lead at 19-7.
- Oswego kicked the offense into gear behind four points from Altes and five from Raiven Encarnacion to cut the lead to just four halfway through the contest, 27-23.
- The Lakers grabbed the lead early in the third quarter when guard Erin Gantley swished a three but Fredonia answered right back with a 10-0 run to retake command.
- A three-point play by freshman Ramatoulaye Sy and a deep 3-pointer by Quincey Zimmerman brought the game back to 37-34 with 3:04 left in the quarter. The quarter would conclude with Fredonia up 40-36.
- The lead would close to a bucket at 44-42 when Altes scored inside with six minutes remaining. Another push by the Blue Devils made it 50-42 with four minutes left.
- Five points by Encarnacion and another layup from Altes closed the game to 52-49 and Oswego in possession with 1:41 left in the game. Oswego got two good looks to tie, but could not convert and Fredonia cemented the win from the line.
- Encarnacion led Oswego with 13 points, Altes had nine and Sy grabbed a game-high 13 boards.

The team returns to Ziel tomorrow at 2 p.m. for a matchup with the Bengals of Buffalo State.
