AURORA, N.Y. – The Oswego State basketball team dropped a contest at Wells College on Saturday afternoon. A seven-point halftime deficit could not be erased by the Lakers in the last two quarters.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• A six-point advantage for the Express in the opening 10 minutes proved to be insurmountable, despite Oswego playing Wells even the next two quarters.
• Wells extended its lead to as many as 12 but the Lakers did not go away, cutting it to as close as four in the third quarter.
• In the fourth, Oswego shaved it to as close as three points but the Express answered down the stretch to prevent a comeback.
• Samantha Britton and Raiven Encarnacion each scored in double figures, going for 12 and 11, respectively.
• As a team, the Lakers held a healthy 45-34 advantage on the glass, as 10 of 11 Lakers that appeared in the game had a rebound.
• That effort was spearheaded by a pair of seven-board efforts from Quincey Zimmerman and Ramatoulaye Sy.
• Britton and Erin Gantley each had six rebound while Rachael Windhausen grabbed five.

Oswego will return home and to conference action as it hosts New Paltz at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
