OSWEGO, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked Oswego State men's ice hockey team returns home after a neutral site game on Tuesday to host the Utica College Pioneers at 7 p.m. on Friday in the Marano Campus Center Arena. It will be Minor Hockey Association Night, which will include an autograph session with the Lakers following the contest. Children between the ages of 4-17 wearing a minor hockey jersey will get free admission with paid adult admission. All complimentary tickets are sold at the Marano Campus Center Box Office window.
In the latest polls, the Lakers have climbed in the USCHO and D3hockey.com rankings, voted as fifth in the country by both entities. Utica currently sits at 9-5 overall and is riding a five-game winning streak.
Oswego owns a 14-6-4 advantage in the all-time series, including an 8-2-1 record on home ice. The Lakers are unbeaten in the last seven matchups with Utica, posting a 3-0-4 mark over the last five seasons.
Last season, the Lakers and the Pioneers skated to a 3-3 tie in the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. In a battle of top 10 teams,
