Senior Anthony Paris Sends Lakers Past Hawks

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- The Oswego State men's soccer team returned to its winning ways, defeating New Paltz on Saturday afternoon. Senior Anthony Paris scored his second goal of the season, sending the Lakers to their third conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Freshman Kyle Scalzo opened the scoring, deflecting a shot from Kieran Gilroy 33 minutes into the game. The goal marked Scalzo's fourth of the season and Gilroy's first collegiate assist.
  • New Paltz's lone goal came off a penalty kick in the 54th minute of the contest.
  • Senior Anthony Paris added to a memorable Senior Day, tallying the eventual game-winner with less than eight minutes in regulation. 
  • Steven Rojas and Kieran Gilroy recorded the remaining shots on-goal for Oswego.
  • Brian Terra recorded six saves in net to notch his seventh win of the season, a new career-high. 

 
WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers will travel to Potsdam for a matchup against the Bears on Friday at 3 p.m. as they begin a four-game road trip.
