Lakers Battle, But Fall in Overtime

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- The Oswego State women's soccer team fell to New Paltz in overtime on Saturday afternoon despite owning advantages in both shots on-goal (8-6) and corner kick opportunities (3-2).

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • New Paltz tallied the game-winner at 94:34 off an unassisted goal from Alex Wild.
  • Sophomore Graisa Madden had a game-high three shots on goal for the Lakers, all of which came in the first 14 minutes of the contest.
  • Also recording a shot for the Lakers were Phyllis Reed, Lynsey Roth, Gianna Perri, Grace Mueller and Maggie Riordan, all with a single opportunity.
  • Despite recording seven shots in the first half, Oswego was held to just three shots combined in the second half and overtime.
  • Emma Allen was given the loss between the pipes but stopped five shots from the Hawks.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers will return home on Friday at 3 p.m. to kick off a four-game home stand with conference rival Potsdam.
