First Half Goals Undo Women's Soccer at Home

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team could not erase two first-half goals from Potsdam in a conference loss at home on Friday afternoon. Oswego keeper Emma Allen made eight saves in the effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A pair of Bears' goals just 3:20 apart in the opening stanza was the difference.
  • Oswego applied the pressure in the second half, accounting for five of its seven on-goal opportunities during the 45 minutes.
  • Junior Lynsey Roth and sophomore Maggie Riordan paced the Lakers with two shots on-goal apiece. Riordan also finished with a team-high five total shots.
  • Joining the duo with shots on-target in the affair were Emily Applegate, Katharine Balog and Jackie Vigliotti.
  • Allen kept Oswego within striking distance in the second period, stopping all six Potsdam shots to go along with her two saves from the first half.
WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers will continue its regular-season ending, four-game homestand with the second leg of that span at 1 p.m. on Saturday when it hosts Plattsburgh in SUNYAC action.
