Portalatin Holds Plattsburgh Scoreless in Loss

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team dropped the second leg of a regular-season closing four-game homestand against Plattsburgh at home on Saturday. Reserve goalie Sophia Portalatin blanked the Cardinals after entering the game midway through the first half.

THE BASICS

  • Location: Laker Turf Stadium – Oswego, N.Y.
  • Records: Plattsburgh 7-6-1 (3-3-1 SUNYAC)  |  Oswego 2-13-0 (0-7-0 SUNYAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • At 5:54, Plattsburgh recorded what proved to be the day's only goal.
  • A little more than 25 minutes later, starting goalie Emma Allen was part of a collision and had to be relieved by Portalatin.
  • The junior spent the final 58:11 between the pipes, with the defense not allowing a shot on-goal the remainder of the first half.
  • In the second stanza, Portalatin stopped all five on-target chances she faced from Plattsburgh, keeping the Lakers within striking distance throughout.
  • Lynsey Roth had half of the Lakers' six shot attempts, while Corinna Chambers, Graisa Madden and Maggie Riordan had one apiece. Roth and Riordan accounted for the two on-goal opportunities for Oswego.
