OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team tallied the game's first goal on Friday but was unable to hold off Fredonia in a league match at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A little more than five minutes into the game, sophomore Maggie Riordan scored her second goal of the year off a pass from classmate Graisa Madden for the early 1-0 advantage. It was Madden's team-leading third assist of the season.
- Fredonia was able to knot the game before the half, recording a goal in the 35th minute.
- Less than two minutes into the second half, the Blue Devils notched the eventual game-winner, despite junior Lynsey Roth having a solid chance to even the game in the 55th minute.
- Joining Roth and Riordan with on-goal opportunities were Corinna Chambers and Taylor Harrington.
- Goalie Sophia Portalatin played well between the pipes for Oswego, stopping a career- and season-high eight Fredonia on-goal tries.
- Oswego owned an advantage in corner kicks (3-1) and put four of its six shots on-net.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will close the regular season with a game against Buffalo State at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Prior to the game, Oswego will recognize its graduating class with a short on-field ceremony for Senior Day.
