OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State volleyball team took a 2-1 lead but was unable to put the Wells Express away in the final two, closely contested sets and fell 3-2 on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.  Senior Shauna O'Flaherty led Oswego with 15 kills on .368 hitting during the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Oswego held Wells to a nine kills and nine errors in cruising to the first set win.
• Wells' offense found some momentum with 15 kills in the second set to even the match at 1-1.
• The Lakers countered with a 17-1-41 (.390) attacking line and won a close third set, 25-22.
• In the fourth set, Oswego took early leads of 8-4 and 14-11.
• Up 19-18, the Express went on a 7-3 run down the stretch to force the fifth set.
• It was a solid start for Oswego in the fifth with a 4-1 run, but Wells took the next four to take the lead.
• A pair of blocks by the Lakers put them up 9-8, but it was another 7-2 run by the visitors that cemented the match.
• Melissa Lussier had 14 kills and 11 digs and Sarah Massie added 12 kills.
• Senior Julia Flohr had 37 assists and 17 digs and middle hitter Lauren Fie had 9 kills and six blocks.
• On defense, Emily Costa had 24 digs and Skylar Bechard had 10.
• Off the bench, junior Emily Klock hit .400 with five kills on 10 attempts.
