OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to conference-leader Geneseo on Saturday's Senior Day at Max Ziel Gymnasium. The loss slots the Lakers in at the six-seed for the SUNYAC Championships and a matchup at Cortland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening two sets were eerily similar with the teams battling even until 18-18 before Geneseo went on 7-4 runs to open up a 2-0 lead.
- In the third set, the Oswego defense kicked into overdrive led by senior Julia Flohr, holding Geneseo's high-powered offense to 10 kills while scoring 14 of their own in a 25-17 win.
- Geneseo led by as many as eight in the fourth set before Oswego pulled within 21-19, but a 4-0 run by the Knights ended it.
- Senior Lauren Fie led Oswego with 11 kills and fellow senior Sarah Massie had nine.
- Melissa Lussier had nine kills and 15 digs while Flohr recorded 29 assists and 18 digs.
- On defense, sophomore Skylar Bechard had 22 digs and Emily Costa had 13.
- Senior Shannon Stone had seven kills and three blocks.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers have one final weekend of non-conference action when they travel to Alfred next Saturday for matches with the Saxons (12:30 p.m.) and SUNY Poly (2 p.m.).
