HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers came out ready to play in a tight first quarter that saw neither team lead by more than one bucket. Reigning USBWA National Player of the Week Rachael Windhausen scored six in the opening frame to put Oswego up 15-14 heading into the second.
- Oswego scored the first five of the second quarter with Oneonta countering with seven-straight of their own to make the score 21-20 with 5:00 minutes left before the half.
- A pair of 3-pointers by Quincey Zimmerman would help Oswego take a 30-28 lead into halftime.
- The third quarter was similar to the first with both teams staying within a basket of each other until 2:37 left in the quarter and the score even at 40-40. Oneonta would make the pivotal push and go on a 7-0 run to end the stanza and get some separation.
- Oswego scored 19 fourth-quarter points, behind five from Ramatoulaye Sy and Erin Gantley, but Oneonta had an answer to the Lakers everytime.
- Sy (15 points, 14 rebounds) and Windhausen (14 points, 14 rebounds) each recorded a double-double while Zimmerman finished with 14 points.
- The Lakers were great on the boards again, corralling 52 to the Red Dragons' 38.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers hit the road for a 5:30 p.m. tilt at Brockport on Friday evening, looking to play spoiler as the Golden Eagles sit in seventh place in the SUNYAC standings, a game back of the final playoff spot.
