POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team split its weekend series with Potsdam after a 1-0 loss on the road on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Oswego earns the fourth-seed in the NEWHL Championship, which beings next Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team were able to score through the first 45 minutes of play in a pretty tightly contested affair.
- During the sixth minute of the final period, Potsdam was able to find the back of the net on a power-play after the Lakers were whistled for a cross-check.
- Both teams battled over the final several minutes, which featured a couple penalties on each squad.
- Oswego had the final 1:21 on a power-play after the Bears were caught for high-sticking. The Lakers also elected to pull their goalie for the remainder of the game.
- Sara Cruise won the faceoff and Eryn Stewart was able to put a shot on net in the final minute, but Potsdam's netminder was able to turn away the chance.
- The Lakers out shot Potsdam 34-30 in the tilt, with Oswego goalie Rachael Farmer making 29 saves.
- In the faceoff circle, Oswego owned Potsdam to the tune of 35-24 wins and both teams served seven penalties equating to 14 penalty minutes apiece.

Oswego will now travel to top-seeded and nationally-ranked Plattsburgh for a NEWHL Championship semifinal matchup on Saturday at Ronald B. Stafford Arena.
