CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team dropped a close 3-2 matchup at Cortland on Wednesday evening. The Lakers recorded their fourth short-handed tally of the season, the second in as many games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a game where Oswego owned a one-goal lead twice, Sara Cruise recorded the first tally of the game, just minutes into the first period. Classmate Annika Neufeld-Kreider recorded the lone assist on Cruise's tally.
- It took the Red Dragons near 17 minutes to answer the goal, scoring on the power play in the opening two minutes of the middle stanza.
- The Lakers found themselves on the right-side of a penalty-kill, as Emma Morisette recorded their fourth short-handed goal of the season, unassisted as the last two have been.
- With this short-handed goal, Oswego is now tied for third in the country with most short-handed goals, trailing only Manhattanville and Utica with five.
- Cortland would go on to score again, with two unanswered goals in the final period, the game-winning one coming with just under four minutes remaining in the contest.
- Cortland-transfer Rachael Farmer tallied 38 saves against her former team.
- Oswego owned a five win advantage in faceoffs, 34-29.
