UTICA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's lacrosse team dropped its first contest of the season, falling 11-7 at Utica College on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a two-goal deficit in the opening five-minutes, Montana Garrett cut the Pioneers' lead to one with her unassisted goal at 22:41.
- Following a four-goal run by the hosts, Teresa Shattuck, Brigid Regin and Toni Laneve recorded a goal apiece, with the latter of the two assisting on each others' goals, to end the first and open the second half.
- Regin would go on to tally another goal and two assists for a team-high five points.
- Laneve and Shattuck would combine for the Lakers' final tally with 5:21 remaining in the contest.
- Junior Molly Beck recorded her ninth goal of the season.
- In goal, Elianna Sanchez made 14 stops.
- Oswego was especially efficient on the clear attempt, converting on 20-of-25 attempts.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as they travel to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils in their first conference matchup of the season.
