CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's lacrosse team dropped a contest to nationally-ranked Cortland on the road on Saturday afternoon. No. 15 Cortland was able to notch the game's first seven goals, a deficit the Lakers could not erase despite only being outscored by one goal the rest of the way (11-10).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego's first goal came from Toni Laneve off a Teresa Shattuck pass at 13:04 of the first half. The Laneve goal started a 4-2 run for the Lakers over a 7:04 span.
- Brigid Regin sandwiched a pair of Red Dragon goals with a couple of unassisted tallies before Shattuck closed the spurt with an unassisted goal of her own at the six-minute mark.
- Cortland was able to notch one more score before the half to own a 10-4 advantage at the break.
- Kassidy Myers recorded her ninth goal of the season on an extra-player opportunity at 24:36 to make it an 11-5 margin.
- Regin and Laneve then connected for Oswego's next goal at 22:09, as the former scored off a pass from the latter.
- The Red Dragons responded with a string of four-straight goals to put the game out of reach.
- Oswego fought to the final horn, however, answering with four of the contest's final five goals, each coming in unassisted fashion.
- Mckenna Chesbro scored her fourth of the year at 11:52 prior to a pair of Molly Beck goals at 5:32 and 3:37.
- Laneve closed the game with her 17th goal of the year after a Cortland yellow card, with the tally coming inside the final minute.
- Laker goalie Elianna Sanchez turned away 10 shots on-goal from Cortland.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will have the week to prepare for its next conference test, as Potsdam comes to campus for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday.
