HOW IT HAPPENED
- Regin's game-winner came on the heels of a Montana Garrett free-position attempt. The junior set up on the right side of the arc and immediately passed to Regin on the whistle, as the senior darted in from the left and cashed in at the top of the crease, beating the goalie over her right shoulder.
- Despite never leading in regulation, the Lakers kept the Red Dragons in striking distance throughout the contest, including knotting the tilt on four separate occasions.
- Oneonta never led by more than three goals, with both instances coming in the early portion of the first half.
- By halftime, Oswego had erased two, three-goal deficits to stand tied at 8-8. The Lakers would tie the game at 9-9, 12-12 and 13-13 in the second half, with the final tie forcing the overtime. With 2:06 left in regulation, Shattuck found Kamryn Sherman for the equalizer, which was the sophomore's 22nd goal of the year.
- Oswego had the top-four point scorers in the game, paced by Garret's five on four goals and the game-winning assist.
- Molly Beck, Sherman and Shattuck finished with four points apiece. Beck and Sherman did so on three goals and a helper while Shattuck did the inverse, scoring once while helping on three others. Beck's goal at 19:50 of the second half came on an extra-player opportunity.
- Closing out the Laker scorers was Regin with a pair and Kassidy Myers with a first-half goal from Shattuck. Regin's first goal of the game came at 4:44 of the opening stanza on a player-down situation.
- On defense, Walker was a difference maker, turning the Red Dragons over seven times while scooping up eight ground balls. The senior was also active on the draw, controlling a single-game career-high eight. Regin (5) and Shattuck (3) combined to win the other eight Laker draws.
- Joining Walker with multiple caused turnovers were Shattuck (3), Sherman (2) and Engelbrecht (2).
- As a team, Oswego nearly doubled Oneonta's shot on-goal attempts (29-15) and turned the ball over eight fewer times (25-17). Oswego was almost perfect on the clear (16-for-18) while the Red Dragons failed on 10 of its 28 chances.
