Lauren Fie, the Oswego State volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill to open their season at the Elms College Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams stayed even in the first set until junior Melissa Lussier served nine straight to extend the Laker lead to 14-4.
- Senior Julia Flohr would clinch the set with a kill and a pair of aces.
- Oswego notched 12 kills to just two for the Fighting Tigers in the opener.
- The Lakers raced out to a 10-1 lead in the second set behind a pair of aces from sophomore Skylar Bechard.
- Kills from senior Shannon Stone and sophomore Dana Carey cemented the second set, 25-16.
- Fie and freshman Emma Fiorentine each had a pair of kills early in the third stanza as Oswego went out to an 8-1 lead.
- The defense, anchored by junior Emily Costa's match-high 10 digs, held Cobleskill to just four kills en route to a 25-10 final set.
- Flohr had 20 assists, four kills and a pair of aces while Stone had four kills and three blocks.
- The team hit .333 for the match and served 12 aces in the match.

The Lakers return to Elms for the second day of action with matches at 11:30 a.m. against Albertus Magnus and at 1:30 p.m. versus Elms.
