ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team opened the 2019 slate with a dominating performance at Hartwick College on Saturday afternoon. Oswego captured all three doubles competitions and four singles matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The match began with the double portion, and the Lakers wasted no time jumping out to a 3-0 lead.
• All three tandems won by a score of 8-2, with Eliza Johnson and Erin Vargo scoring the victory at first doubles. Lora Gould and Lorrayne Broach paired for the second doubles win while Jenna Wilson and Jenna Lapp claimed third.
• Hartwick tried to make the match close by stealing first two singles battles, but the back two-thirds of the Laker competitors insured a triumph.
• Vargo took third singles 6-1, 6-4 while Laura Gold won at the fourth slot in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 10-7).
• Jenna Wilson surrendered just two games over two sets for a win at fifth singles before Jenny Lapp blanked her opponent in the final singles matchup.

The Lakers will continue with nonconference action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when they travel to Houghton College.
