HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season narrowly at Houghton College on Tuesday afternoon.
Jenny Lapp highlighted the day with a singles victory and pairing for the lone Laker doubles triumph.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego trailed 2-1 after the doubles portion of the competition, with Lapp combining with Jenna Wilson to collect an 8-5 win in the third spot.
- On the singles side, Lorrayne Broach was impressive in the first slot, downing her counterpart in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
- At fourth singles, Lora Gould went the distance, splitting a pair of 6-2 sets with her opponent before winning the superset 10-4.
- Lapp closed the scoring for the Lakers with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 showing at sixth singles.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will host The Sage Colleges at 1 p.m. on Saturday for their home-opener at Romney Tennis Courts.
