OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team lost its home opener to The Sage Colleges on Saturday afternoon. Several tight matches went the Gators' way for the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- During doubles competitions, two of the three matches went to a tiebreaker, with each squad splitting those tiebreakers.
- At first doubles, Lorrayne Broach and Eliza Johnson outlasted their counterparts for an 8-7 win while Lora Gould and Jenny Lapp narrowly lost in the second slot by the same score.
- In the final doubles competition, Jenna Wilson and Mattie Wallace battled tough but eventually fell, 8-5.
- On the singles side, Lapp won the fifth match easily, 6-2, 6-1.
- The other Laker singles victory came in the fourth slot, as Wilson allowed just two games to her opponent in the first set before shutting her out in the second.
- Broach played a close match at first singles, losing by just a break in the first set before falling 6-2 in the decisive set.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will take little time to head back to the courts, as it travels to Rochester, N.Y. to face St. John Fisher College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
