OSWEGO, N.Y. - Behind nine kills, eight digs and five aces from right side hitter
Melissa Lussier, the Oswego State Volleyball team swept Utica College to open up play at the 2019 Oswego State Volleyball Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening set, Oswego recorded 16 kills to just three for the Pioneers in cruising to the lead.
- Behind strong attacking from Shauna O'Flaherty in the second set, Oswego held off a late Utica charge to take the set 25-21.
- Senior Sarah Massie led Oswego with 10 kills and both Julia Flohr (21) and McKenna Corbin (10) reached double digits in assists.
- Junior libero Emily Costa matched Lussier with eight digs and middle hitter Emily Klock recorded five kills on only seven swings.
- Lauren Fie added seven kills and a pair of aces from the service line.Â
- The Lakers have now topped Utica in nine straight matches dating back to 2011 and hold a 12-1 home record against them.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Lakers return to action tomorrow with home matches at 11 a.m. against Elmira and 1 p.m. against SUNY Canton.
