HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Oswego State men's tennis team opened its non-traditional season with a loss at Houghton College on Thursday night. 
 
THE BASICS 
	- Result: Houghton 7, Oswego 2 
- Location: Outdoor Courts -- Houghton, N.Y. 
- Records: Houghton 1-0, Oswego 0-1
HOW IT HAPPENED 
	- Oswego earned it's two points on the singles circuit. 
- At third singles, Daniel Maslowski went the distance for the victory. 
- After taking the first set 6-3, the junior's opponent evened the match with a second set win by a break (6-4). 
- In a superset to determine a victor, Maslowski outlasted his counterpart 10-6 for the Lakers first point. 
- Classmate Alex Mintz claimed sixth singles in similar fashion. 
- Unlike Oswego's first point of the match, Mintz had to comeback after dropping the first set. 
- The junior won the second set 6-3 after being blanked in the first set and completed his resilient effort with a 10-7 triumph in the superset for the Lakers' second and final point of the match. 
- In doubles competition, Maslowski combined with Anthony Salerno and fell by just a break, 8-6. 
WHAT'S NEXT 
The Lakers will face Alfred University at 4 p.m. on Tuesday for their home opener at Romney Tennis Courts.
