DALLAS, PA - The Oswego State volleyball team split a pair of matches to open up play at the Misericordia Clash Tournament. Oswego defeated Valley Forge by a 3-0 score and then fell to a 14-1 Elizabethtown team, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Against Valley Forge, Oswego was dominant from the service line with 17 aces, led by senior Lauren Fie's six.
- Junior Emily Klock had five kills and a pair of blocks while sophomore Julia Pacitto had three kills.
- Sophomore Dana Carey had 11 assists, three kills and five digs in the match.
- In the second match, Oswego led 20-16 behind three kills each from Fie and junior Melissa Lussier.
- A 9-2 run by Elizabethtown down the stretch helped them sneak out the first set.
- The score was close for the entire second set and the teams were tied at 18, but it was the Lakers that made the 7-4 run to tie the match at one set apiece.
- Over the final two sets, the Blue Jay defense held Oswego to 18 kills and 19 errors in taking the match.
- Shauna O'Flaherty led the Lakers with 10 kills and 20 digs while Julia Flohr had 26 assists and 20 digs.
- Joining O'Flaherty and Flohr in double-digit digs were Emily Costa (24) and Skylar Bechard (16).
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers return to action at Misericordia with matches at 1 p.m. against York (PA) and at 3 p.m. versus the host institution.
