NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team battled but ultimately took the loss tonight against the New Paltz Hawks with a final score of 82-36. Top point scorers for Oswego included

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks started off quickly in taking a lead of 29-5 going in to the second quarter.
- In the game, the Lakers did the most damage inside, scoring 26 points in the paint, including 12 in the second half.
- Oswego hit 25% of their 3-point field goals and shot an overall percentage of 35% in the second half.
- Torchia shot 50% in the second half, had five rebounds and a season-high three steals in the game.
- Morgan Wolanin continued her rebounding tear by adding six tonight, making it 25 total in the past three games. She also added seven points and one block.
- The Lakers this season have nearly doubled their steals per game average, allowing them to have more opportunities on offense.
- Through 25 games last year the Lakers had 138 total steals, this year they have a combined 103 in just 11 games. Leading is Eure (25), followed by Erin Gantley (18).
