BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team defeated the Buffalo State Bengals by a score of 84-69 tonight. Staten Island native
Jamal Achille had a career-high 21 points to lead the Lakers in pivotal moments of the game. The Lakers played a complete game as 39 of their 84 points came off of the bench.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was back-and-forth as the Lakers and Bengals exchanged four lead changes in the first six minutes of the contest. This put the Bengals up 12-10 with 14:06 remaining.
- The Lakers found their groove in the later parts of the first half when they went on a 5-0 run to tie the game with 8:46 remaining. This run was led by Achille when he converted a four-point play to knot it at 20.
- Oswego finished out the first half dominating as they went on a 22-4 run, starting at the 7:27 mark with a lay-up made by Achille.
- Jordan Brown took over at the start of the second half, scoring six straight points in just one minute and fifteen seconds.
- Oswego pulled away from the Bengals starting at the 15:50 mark of the second half thanks to a Jeremiah Sparks three-pointer, giving Oswego the lead 54-41.
- Achille continued his tear of the Bengals defense by scoring six points in a row for the Lakers, taking their lead to 17 points (62-45) at the 11:49 mark of the second half.
- He finished the game going 8-11 in field goals, including one three-pointer. Achille also went 4-4 from the free-throw line.
- Joe Sullivan dropped 14 points, including going 10-for-12 from the free-throw line. Sullivan also grabbed eight rebounds to lead the team.
- The Lakers as a whole shot 54.5% from beyond the arc, going 6-for-11.
- Thanks to Sullivan's 10 from the line, Oswego finished off at an even 80% from the charity stripe (16-20).
- Brandan Gartland scored 11 points to aid the Laker offense, shooting 50% throughout. Gartland also led the team in assists with six.

The Lakers will continue SUNYAC play tomorrow, traveling to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. February1.
